I'm of the mind that some people -- people who claim to be progressive and anti-war -- hate the space program so much that they would prefer 100 years of war in Iraq to the PEACEFUL exploration of the moon and Mars. I, of course, prefer the peaceful exploration of the moon and Mars to 100 years of war in Iraq. But in today's modern dystopia, I'm definitley in the minority here since the space program is extemely unpopular. And as you may know, "society" general hates any and all ideas that are unpopular.

That brings me to Barak Obama's plans for NASA. In short I think these plans are abysmal. As I recall, he wants to take $10 billion out of NASA's budget and use that money to pay for some sort of preschool education program. This will create a delay or even a cancellation of the Constellation program. "But we don't need to return to the moon. We need to solve our problems on Earth first!" That's a very simple-minded and inaccurate view of the situation. Consider this: NASA's budget (at $17.3 billion a year) is LESS THAT ONE PERCENT OF THE TOTAL U.S. FEDERAL BUDGET. Again I say that NASA's budget (at $17.3 billion a year) is LESS THAT ONE PERCENT OF THE TOTAL U.S. FEDERAL BUDGET. If Obama claims that he opposes the U.S. occupation in Iraq, then he should get the withdrawl done immediately if he becomes president. The savings acquired from withdrawing American military forces from Iraq should be enough to pay for BOTH the preschool education program AND the Constellation program. And with the U.S. military budget being as inconceivably massive as it is (at least $500 billion a year), reducing the military budge to, say, half of what it is shouldn't have a negative effect on national security (espeically if the military is used for REAL national defense and NOT to fuel the military-industrial-congressional complex). Even cut in half, the U.S. military budget would still be the largest military budget on Earth.

So why would Obama ignore such an obviously simple way to keep NASA on track without effecting social programs? Could it be that he really supports a massive military? If that's the case, then he's not all that different from John McCain. I also believe this issue is connected with Obama's obsession with pleasing everyone (or more specifically, the majority). With the space program being as unpopular as it is, he knows how popular bashing NASA is and how most of the public would support such bashing.

One of the reasons why I support space exploration is because I believe it is a viable alternative to war. If the energy channeled toward warfare and the misery and suffering that it causes were channeled toward space exploration, life on Earth might be improved in many ways. Things like spin-off technologies and access to the unlimited natural reseources of outer space are some ways the space program could improve the lives of people oin Earth. But since space exploration is very unpopular, I suspect that most people will disagree with me on this. But they wouldn't disagree if the space program were popular. Ho ve!

I need friends who can tolerate my atypical personality so I can practice freedom of speech

I only want to be friends with people who can tolerate my atypical personality. That way I can be allowed to practice freedom of speech. As you might know, the right to free speech doesn't equal the right to be heard. Since that 's the case, that means that you are required to shut the fuck up if someone doesn't want to hear what you have to say. In my estimation, people who can tolerate my atypical personality are more likely to be interested in what I hate to say. Therefore, there's little chance that they'd tell me to shut the fuck up.

It may be my opinion or it may be a psychological need, but I feel that I have a substantial need to express myself freely. I can't express myself freely if I associate with people who only want me to tell them what they want to hear. But I can express myself freely if I associate with people who understand that I have a substantial need to express myself freely. In other words, those who demand that I tell them ONLY what they want to hear ARE NOT my friends, while those who don't demand that I tell them only what they want to hear ARE my friends. I suspect that some people will conclude that such a policy indicates one or more personality defects on my part. and they may be right. But if this policy works for me, then why should anybody complain about it?

(Un)Fairness and (In)Accuracy in Reporting

According to my estimation, you can't trust FAIR (Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting) anymore than you can trust Fox News. Because like Fox News, FAIR focuses on the issues they support and ignore the issues they don't care about. For example, FAIR made a big protest about how the "news" media rarely mentioned the potential dangers of the nuclear-powered Cassini space probe. Yet at the same time, FAIR refused to mention how that same media rarely mentioned the Delta Clipper reusable rocket program -- a program that involved a NON-NUCLEAR, pollution-free spacecraft. I contacted FAIR about the Delta Clipper issue. But of course they completely ignored me. I have to conclude from this that FAIR is filled to brim with anti-nuclear reactionaries who hate advanced technology to death.

Yes, yes, yes! I know everybody is biased! And I also know that a lot of folks love to feign fairness and accuracy and don't care what a scam that is. But I still insist that these media-types be truthful in at least on regard: That they're not fair and balanced. Of course as things stand now, it looks like FAIR and Fox News will continue to share their desire to lie to the public about their "fairness" and "balance."

ugh, morons, idiots, the terminally stupid, every day i am more and more stunned and amazed at how stupid people are and i wonder how fucking far this shit can go, isnt there some point whjere you become so stupid that god kills you as a mercy to others that have to share this planet with you?My god the military is FULL, FULL i tell you of people that honestly dont have enough brains to pour piss out of a boot with instructions on the heel, and most are given the responsiblity to carry guns and are in charge of multimillion dollar equipment, and will likely shoot themselves or others long before any terrorists get the chance.i need to create a virus that attacks all humans that are too dumb to have manners or with an intelligence lower than a mollusk.Preferrably a painful virus, something that involves slow nerve receptor burnout, and lesions that spell out "too stupid to survive". ugh, i hate people, i wish they would just go swimming with pork chop life preservers.

The writ of habeas corpus (burden of proof, basically) no longer applies to those deemed by a military tribunal, formed and appointed by president or secretary of defense, to be enemies or foreign hostiles. How are they proved to be "enemies or foreign hostiles", one might ask. See above; the writ of habeas corpus no longer applies..
In other words, you can be sentenced or held indefinitely, without stated cause, if you are declared a threat to security; and once you are, no proof need be given.

I wish I were exaggerating, or taking the alarmist position. This is real, this is now.

I'll be holding a funeral for the constitution in my back yard. Unless I'm wrongly imprisoned before then..

not happy unless you're not happy

So i work with this guy that i really dig. He's a cool guy.
but he fuckin' complains A LOT.
and the more i work with him, i realize that he's just not happy unless he's not happy.
no matter what happens, he has a complaint about it.
things get better and something else pisses him off.
Do you know people like this?
I've worked with him for 2 years now.
At first, i was completely with him, felt a strong camaraderie.... "yeah, this sucks and this needs to change" but as the changes happen, there's always something else to complain about.
He is NEVER like.... yeah, things are really good right now....
and this sucks.
And the complaining has heightened. To the point where i don't even wanna be around this dude. He's become a really good friend, yet lately he's so negative and overreacts to everything, i don't wanna even hang out.
I hope this is just because he's ready to leave the job.
But i almost wanna tell him "if you're so unhappy, leave NOW (so we can still be buds)"

rudeness at church

My precious, little 3 month old niece was christened in a Catholic church this past weekend. My Baptist dad (or her grand-father) attended the ceremony, after I had a long talk with him about supporting his grand-daughter. Having been raised southern Baptist (although I'm Catholic now), one has to understand it's not just an organized religion; it's highly intolerant of other views and, thus is more similiar with competitive sports.

Anyway, so my family is there, and right before receiving Communion, I get on my knees. My dad stands besides me, and says "I need to go; seeya back at the house." I'm so stunned that I have to stand up and let my father slip out before Communion. Does anyone else think this is rude? For me, it's a very humble and personal time that was abruptly interrupted by my father's exodus.

I dont know how it came about, but somehow this past weekend I spent reading, discussing, and thinking about personality and personality disorders. What at first started with a discussion about someones major in college and the things she had learned, spurred me onto reading, which then spurred me onto thinking.

I guess for me I have never sincerely spent any major amount of time reflecting upon what may ale me in the way of social behavior. I like to be alone, mainly becuase I really dont like people. I had never thought of it as being detrimental to myself. After the discussion I returned to my abode and hit the greatest contribution to the downward spiral of society, the internet and found a personality test (I dont remember the site). The subject is the result.

I began to think about what lead me to being what to me sounds something akin to that of a social leper. That is one thing I don't like, the mental health organizations dont make the illnesses sound good and to the point. To me they tend to cloud up the actual issues with obscure words. It's rather unhip. Being an supposed personality disordered person, I would much rather just be called 'whacko', or 'a nut', or even a 'social leper'. With education being at a near all time low in this country (USA), using big words that the patient doesn't understand will undoubtedly reduce the meaning to said patient. However if the doctor looks at the patient and says: "Dude, you are completely fricken nuts. I mean I look at you and think Planters." That to me would get the patient to take things a little more seriously.

Anyway, I thought more into it and wondered, where did my personality 'faults' come from? And are most of those things listed above really my fault? All of the above issues are centered around one singular thing, I don't like 'to be around other people'. At least that's how they put it, I prefer the more personalized description of 'I dont like people'. If everybody were nicer and a little less transparent in my mind then maybe I wouldn't have such a problem with them. I am not paranoid of people, I dont think that others are out to get me or do me harm. I am sure that there are those people out there, but I really could care less. I just don't like most people based on simple fact that, people seem to me to have devolutionized into single dimensional toadstools. And I blame TV for this...
I don't blame TV in the sense that it rots the brain, or in any 'real' scientific arena. I blame TV from more of a role-model aspect of thought. Television (mainly sitcoms) allows for single dimensional characters. You really can't have deeply complex people as the stars of TV shows, because as television has come into peoples homes their attentions spans have shortened to that of 2-day beard growth. What I am talking about is clearest in Gilligans island. You have 7 people, mostly different (although it could be said that the millionaire and his wife would constitute a singular being):
Gilligan - the clumsy guy with a heart of gold.
Mary Anne - the down to earth person
Professor - the intellectual
Ginger - the naive girl
The millionaires - The eccentrics
Skipper - the sidekick to the clumsy guy.
These six archetypes have been in almost every sitcom sense. The problem I think in modern day television is that it is desgined to be closer to reality than, say Gilligans island. The setting for Gilligan's island, reminded people that it was fake. Sure people wouldn't mind being millionaires or movie stars like Ginger. But put in the context of being rich or famous while stranded on a desert isle, takes away near all the glory of being either of those. Thusly the writers did okay by creating single dimension characters. The lack of depth was only made more hilarious by the contrast (or similarity - as the island seemed to really only have one type of topography) with their environment.
However todays TV programs are made to be more realisitic (not including Reality shows here - although you probably could, I have no doubt that reality shows tend to typecast the participants). Characters are not stranded in unlikely events, their surroundings are more believable and the characters are slightly more centered to modern society. However they still rely on single dimensional characters. Take Friends for example, everyone on Friends is actually a Gilligans island character (Joey=Gilligan, Chandler=Skipper, Monica=Mary Ann, Ross=the professor, Rachel=Ginger, Pheobe=the millionaires). But since it is in a more plausible environment viewers try to model their lives and livelihoods after them. This is where the problem lies. People have started being less themselves and more like poeple on TV. TV has made people less desirable as complex individuals, and more desirable as single faceted typecasts.
What started out as a marketing ploy to keep viewers coming back has seeped into the personalities and expectations of those viewers. Most TV shows these days never get off the ground unless viewers can understand the characters and have put them in a grouping usually before the first commercial break of the first episode. As a side effect viewers tend to use that same reasoning with real people. Proof of this can be found in what I believe is called "speed dating". People come together and get 5 minutes or so to introduce themselves. The believers in this technique think that dates come about from first impressions. But that's not really true. It comes about from being typecast and possibly even castigated before the person even has a chance to learn your last name. I earnestly believe that if I had a dating resume and instead of putting on it what I honestly believe to be an accurate description of myself, replaced it with the one sentence, "I am alot like Chandler" I would get more dates. Simply because people have become so centered on a belief that the fake people on tv are real. It's an odd paradox: real people wanting to be fake people that are played by real people.
That is why I shy away from people. I don't believe that I typecast people, although would not put it past myself. But I don't like the idea that people are typecasting me with in the first 10 minutes of meeting me. And if they aren't able to then I am not a fake enough real person for them.

It comes down to my desire to maintain my self-illusion of individuality. If I keep away from people who might say, "You remind me a lot of Ross from Friends" then I can keep the idea that I am not fitting into a pop-culture mold. And the internet hasn't helped.
In my social avoidance I do most of my communication via 1's and 0's. So I don't have to face people. I don't want to see people's faces as they read this, I know I will be able to see them thinking... "AHA! This guy is Gilligan."

A dear sweat lady lives near me. Been my neighbor ever since I moved here and we became friends around 1997.
She is 83 years of age.
She collects junk and recycles it. Some of it is great items that wasteful people throw out maybe after garage sales? or whatever.
We have many conversations. Wide range of topics. Some things she tells me every day and has been all these years, but I act like I heard them for the first time.
She is the age my mom would be if my mom was here.
Yesterday some ass hole was driving too fast and HIT AND RUN...she was knocked unconscious and was badly bruised her face looks like a prize fighter. BUT SHE IS FINE!
I was amazed! She told me of the whole thing and I could not believe she was still walking let alone talking to me!
Somewhere America, There is a person unknown gender, unknown looks, unknown race...type of car unknown, who HIT an elderly lady...and I am PISSED OFF!
Oh the energy! what am I going to do?
The people near where she was walking were car mechanics in a garage, they did not see anything...so they say. They did help her up, but did not call paramedics...
They let her walk home...they did clean her up ...THANK YOU!
and they did buy her a new cart she uses to collect stuff. Her old one was broken beyond help. She went back to that place today and the guys had her new one with all her collections on it...That was nice.
But somewhere America, someone knows they did this crime, someone else might have been with them in the car? Someone might have seen this act and not come forawrd...With holding this info is a crime...
Not as bad as hitting and fleeing the scene of the crime! But all crimes punishable by law. How can anyone help?
I do not know.
She is head strong and keeps on the go collecting and recycling items.
She is and KNOWS she is helping Mother Earth...she says ,"It is all I can do, we all need to do our share, I try to do this because in society I do not have a job, so I try to help this way.
Some Mo'F'er thought she was just a homeless bag lady and did not care about coming back to help her...
Someone is going to HELL for this act!
I am pissed...

dogs in the rain

I feel so bad for all those miserable dogs even puppies tied up to some old doghouse and left their all by their lonesomes in rain , snow or freezing and spend their whole lives that way only to be used once in a while to hunt a racoon for the sheer sport of killing something. Some dogs a re just tied to a tree with barly a foot of leeway and no protection at all and it is legal.

Ephedra

I heard on the news the other night, that as of April 12th Ephredra products will be outlawed nation-wide. I couldn't help but wonder why, so I did my usual half-assed digging for information, and found this:

"It is the government's first-ever ban of a dietary supplement. Ephedra has been linked to 155 deaths and dozens of heart attacks and strokes." -Cnn.com

I thought for a moment, 'Wow only 155 deaths to get something banned? I wonder... since guns, tobacco and alcohol kill so many people those must be banned too right?' Of course, as I'm sure you all know, they are all still perfectly legal. So I thought, 'hmm maybe I'm wrong... Maybe guns tobacco and alcohol don't cause as many deaths afterall...' Again after some half-assed research I stumbled across some interesting totals: (Most of these can be found with some digging at www.cdc.gov - or just hit google, so many places are offering up deaths statistics now a days, and all of them seem to reference cdc.gov...) I believe these are for 2001...

Gun related deaths: ~30,000 - so why aren't guns banned? I mean they caused 193 times that of ephedra products. I know, I know, "right to bear arms" right? Well thats all fine and dandy, but I don't recall a right to shoot your neighbor in the head...

Alcohol related deaths: ~19,000 - okay so maybe not as important as guns... But still that's 12200% (if I did my math right...) of ephedra deaths. Although I guess we supposedly learned our lesson through the last prohibition, eh?

Motor vehicle deaths: ~46,000 - Well fuck the guns and alcohol, let's get rid of vehicles... Let's go back to horses and walking. Damn it if our grandfathers had to walk barefoot, in the snow, uphill both ways to everywhere they went, then dammit I think we should be able to do it too. 46,000 thousand! that almost 300 times as many deaths as ephedra!

Tobacco deaths (this one was hard, everywhere I looked it was always estimated; as smoking causes so many problems sometimes it's a little hard to distinguish...): The rough estimation was tobacco/smoking related deaths caused somewhere around 400,000 deaths. 400,000! I'm not even to going to try the math on this one. 400,000 - nuff said on that.

Now then... I smoke, I drink alcohol, I drive a car, and I have no issues with people owning guns (just with how they use them). I am just simply trying to drive home a point of why I think the Bush administration is about as bright as a 10watt bulb. I guess to me it is a little disturbing that 450,000 people died in one year, and he's looking to only save 155... I guess it's even more disturbing that he killed more than 155 americans in three months between March and May of 2003, where as ephedra took a year. I guess I'm trying to wrap my head around who's the bigger killer?

I hate to add to the truck load of junk concerning Janet's boob, but sometimes things are just crying out to be yelled about. First let me say that I didn't have a problem with Janets expose (as it were) still don't. With everything else on TV the <1 second glimpse is hardly anything to shout about. I mean jeeze you think that half these people have never seen an episode of NYPD Blue...
There are people, two of which work with me, who believe that Janet Jacksons boob, MTV, and CBS are the reincarnation of Satan himself. And the presentation of what happened will make their kids grow into sexual predators, criminals, drug addicts, worship the devil, and I believe grow hair on their palms. It is unfortunate that since I work with these narrow minded buffoons that I have to retain some control over how I present them with the verbal bitch slap they have warranted for themselves. Once they had finished preaching about how, since their 13 year old boy saw it he was doomed to a life of masturbating in the rose bushes in a retirment community. I pointed out, that if they would discuss situations and topics, such as sex, drugs, etc. Their kids might not turn out to be so fucked up. Parents need to understand that if you are going to use the television as a way to raise your child, then you are going to have to accept responsibility for you kid being warped. It is NOT MTVs fault, NOT CBS' fault, NOT Janet Jackson's or her breasts fault, NOT the FCC's, it is YOUR fault for not taking an active interest in your childs life. Maybe I'm just one of these fucked up types because I have seen a boob before (believe it or not - In REAL LIFE), but I would think that it would be the action, the situation, the statement that is the detremental part on society, not the boob itself. To argue that it is okay to repeat the footage because the boob was blurred out, doesn't that sound like this person is more scared of the boob than what messages might be coming across?

I work in technical support for a college assisting people with computer difficulties. Although I am quite skilled @ teaching, I'm not going to be able to " school ya " on how to use your computer 5 minutes before your online class is to start.

If you don't know how to use a computer, please do not sign up for online classes in OTHER topics like Biology or Humanities.

If you took a regular college course, the instructor wouldn't teach you how to use your pen and a piece of paper.

It is not my responsibility to teach you to look for " The big blue E " icon so you can open up a browser.

This " Internet Thing " has become a way of life.
Deal with it.

Furthermore, do yourself and the world a favor and spend 15 minutes familiarizing yourself with the terminology required to use a computer. I do not understand " thingy " & if I knew, then you wouldn't have to call me repeating " you know " ever 3rd utterance. The words " icon ", " desktop " & "browser " have been around & used in everyday conversations for more than a decade ... your computer illiteracy is appalling.

If you don't know something in regards to the computer, please just be honest and tell me you don't understand. I am skilled @ presenting material in a myriad of ways and will find a way to make it clear for you. I will treat you politely and enjoy helping people learn. Getting belligerent and obnoxious with me because of your lack of knowledge will not help you learn and will insure I do as little as required to get you off the phone as soon as possible.
Do not call me screaming 5 minutes before an assignment is due that " our " system is screwed up and you can't turn in your assignment. I will outsmart you and offer to upload your assignment for you, thereby destroying your " excuse " that the system just happened to be down @ the time your assignment was due. If you can't email me your assignment @ that time, please be aware that I will shoot an email to your instructor letting them know about the situation and you will now have lost your cheesy excuse for not turning in your assignment.

Do not call for your wife, husband, second cousin or for anyone else for that matter. If the class was important to THEM, they would call. We are available 24/7 @ a toll free # so please pass that onto your second cousin.

If your running illegally copied software, do not tell me.

Also, please don't tell me how much you hate the instructor ... I have to take calls from the bitch too and can't stand her anymore than you can !

Practice words like " Please " & " Thank you " before dialing. Believe it or not, you will get me to go above and beyond my job requirements & you will charm me into teaching you how to use your computer.

If your instructor wants it done in HTML, then you can assume that they actully want you to LEARN how it works ...

If your class doesn't live up to your espectations, please call the college directly. Many times the instructors hired to teach the classes know as little as you do about how to use a computer & that is why the online class sucks. I sympathise, but I don't have any " pull " @ the college to get your instructor changed.

A couple of televised pleas for money in order to save soul, that bother me...
First: These fuckin TV commercials for A Foundation for A Better Life. These are the one's that look and feel a lot like the 80's era Church of Latter Day Saints commercials. The most recent of these retarded promos features some cheesedick kid athlete who at first whines about his coach then has nothing but pride when his coach doesn't act surprised when he wins the "big" race. They always end with some psuedo moral of the story crap too. Like, "Believeing. Pass it On." Fuckin bunch do-gooder asswipes. What they are essentially trying to paint is the picture of some people have littel or no self-esteem. It's all apart of the next New Age movement to care about your fellow man... Love your fellow man... Respect your fellow man. You know what I say? Fuck my fellow man! If my fellow man is having such a hard time believeing in his or her self, then I have a couple of ideas on boosting their self-esteem level through the use of a bathtub full of water and toaster. Well, so it may not help them out too much, but I will feel better having one less whiney prick sucking up the oxygen that more intelligent people could be using. These are the same people who started to whole Self-help line of books, and similar wastes of ink on how to raise your self-esteem. Well I have had it. I am going to start my own cultural awareness program. It's gonna be called the "Foundation for Miserable Living". In order to be a part of it you have to be a blind parapalegic heroin addict with lepersy. And the tag lines are gonna be about how to put your fellow man in touch with reality. Instead of, "Believeing. Pass it on." Im gonna end all of my tv spots with something a little more up on the times. How about, "A good hard kick to the groin. Pass it on."?
Along these lines is the Christian Childrens Fund. With that Santa Clause reject looking fuck. As much as one miniscule part of me is bothered by with the idea of starving kids. I can't help but find it even more irritating that Christians are still out for wordl domination. You'll notice that the fat Kris Kringle mother-fucker ain't talking about kids in Detroit now is he? Why? Because Christianity already has a good following there. And they need to find someplace where they can come in, and get people to feel sorry for a bunch of grimy kids, so those same people will send enough money for the kids to be brainwashed. They always want money for taking care of the kids. You don't see them talking about needing money to offer up birth control meetings, so these poor parents will stop having poor children do you? Of course not. Because in their book of all things good, and all things punishable (they call it the Bible) they talk about birth control being a sin. And since selling children into slavery (which is advocated in the Bible) has pretty much been deemed a less than humanitarian thing to do, they need otherways of controlling kids. I hope people who are pseudo-adopting these third world kids are wrinting to them and trying to convince the children to stage a revolt. Now that I would pay to see on tv, watching that Santa Clause guy getting crucified... WHEEE!!!

1) Anyone who has ever worked in the "service industry" knows how rude and bizarre customers can be. This bad behavior crosses all financial lines from the wealthy and spolied who treat workers like servants without taking into account the fact that their food and beverages are prepared out of the line of vision (which opens up the invitation for those without scrupples to act in a most naughty fashion) to the everyday working man who figures that he's spent the hole day taking crap from others so it's his turn to dish it out. I really hate the young guys who are trying to impress their girlfriends by subjugating you to humiliation and condescension. The last place I worked (which was a kind of hip/punk rock coffee shop) was the last place on Earth you'd want to try this kind of behavior. We didn't have to take anything from anyone (a privilege that was hard to not take advantage of) and often gave these jerks more than they were ready for in response. I once had a guy (one of the ones who was trying to impress his new, clearly mindless, girl) keep changing his mind about what he wanted BUT only after I had started making the drink he wanted. He did 3 or 4 times before I asked if he was sure he knew what he wanted and then he smirked and told me I should be working at McDonalds at which point my co-worker and I took out our weapons, which we kept under the counter for situations such as this, and let him have a full stream of stale beer fired from a highpower super soaker squirtgun. He was so shocked that he just got flustered and left before his Neanderthal instincts to kick our asses could work its way to his monkey brain. I have also ended friendships with people who thought it was entertaining to screw with serviceworkers. It's like a smaller scale version of the theory that people who torture animals are capable of more. Ok...ok...that's a stretch but it seems that if someone takes pleasure in ruining peoples day, it's only a matter of time 'til I'm due...

2)I hate the small percentage of people who exist within "fringe groups" who give the whole movement, group, lifestyle or philosophy a VERY bad name. I try my best to be a man who doesn't judge by color, race, gender or sexual preference. What burns me is when I try to support a cause and get backlash from the very people I'm trying to show solidarity with. I am not gay but have many gay friends. Because of this, I spend time with them and have been present at "Gay" bars, clubs and parades. There is a small minority within every group who are so militant that they act in completely counterproductive fashion and alienate those who are attempting to bridge the gaps of stupidity and segregation. Being called a "breeder" at a pride parade is no different than a car full of Ohio (I had to pick a state...I picked OH randomly so I appologize to the Ohioans here...) jocks yelling "fag" a homosexual. Being yelled at by man hating women as I take up the back of the Take Back the Night Parade in solidarity with the cause of women not being afraid to live their lives only makes me defensive and want to yell obscenities, thus cementing their further hatred. It's the stupidity of reverse sexism and racism that bites me. It's just depressing...

3) Urban attention seekers. You all have 'em in your town: the guy on the unicycle, the woman who sings at the top of her voice everywhere she goes, people who play with yo-yo's as they walk, the guy who always wears a Viking hat, people who drive cars with no mufflers or with super amped out bass woofer stereo systems, anyone who is doing something to turn your gaze their way with an action or activity that they don't REALLY enjoy but engage in for some attempt at validation of their existence. There is a guy in my town who drives a beat VW Bug with a coffee travel mug velcro-ed onto the rood of his car. Everytime I see him, well meaning drivers and pedestrians honk and yell and he just stares straight ahead smiling his stupid grin. I used to kind of think he was amusing but over the years, I've learned to loathe this man for his small contribution to the world and it's betterment.

4) Girls and women who think that beauty and body can get them anything they want and I equally hate the men who let them get away with this crap...

That's enough for now... I keep thinking of more and more ideas and I'm working myself into a frothy rage. Time for some tea and some shakuhachi flute music on the stereo. Let the healing begin...

Irresponsible pet 'owners'

Ok, I know this is one for the animal lovers, of which I am one. I know it's not up there with shaking ones fist at the big businesses and governments that rule the world, but it's something that very much affects and bothers me.

I am utterly tired and disgusted with many of my many neighbors that seem to not understand that when you get a pet, it's a lifetime responsibility. Time and time again I've had someone in the neighborhood get a kitten, think it's cute for a few weeks then stop caring for it. I have cats, and their scent does tend to draw these abandoned souls to my door. Sad thing is, by the time they reach me, they are half starved, have had absolutely no medical care and are infected with leukemia, feline AIDS, an awful infection, parasites, something. And being the softie that I am, I try and save each and every one of them because I *know* what their fate will be at the pound and I just can't bring myself to take them there. And having to put an animal to sleep because it has leukemia, when it was so easily preventable with a cheap vaccine, breaks my heart. Or worse, the idiots that keep dumping these animals (cats and dogs) at an abandoned lot down the street, because they are 'too soft hearted' to take them to the pound and think someone will take them in. Well yeah, someone might, but by the time they reach that 'someone' they are often starving and sick beyond help, or pregnant.

I just don't get it. Why don't these people just not take on a pet if they won't take care of it? Don't they understand animals feel pain, feel the need for affection, need care and attention as much as anyone? How can people be so cold to just stop caring for a pet, toss it out, forget about it? How can people be so stupid and unfeeling? These are pets, they depend on us, they can't care for themselves. It really takes so little to keep a pet healthy and happy, that I can't believe these people can't be bothered.

...is the fear that after a 6-10 year domancy period everyone will start getting mad cow disease because the government and the money that really runs things is telling us that "everything's ok, no need to panic, trust us to take care of you."

As previously stated, I eat what I want but I be damned and fucked if I'm going to start trusting the government about something that isn't noticible until it's too late and then they can just say "oops!" and it's water under the bridge as usual.

It fucking sucks that money REALLY is what makes the world go around and the "Haves" will always lord over the "have-nots" regardless of their ability to lead intelligently, fairly and rationally.

It's weird that They don't care about this disease YET since it can potentially hit everyone unlike something like AIDS which so many fuckos genuinely believe is God's punishment to the "fringes of society" as they cite the junkies, prostitutes and queer community. Yes, we all know everyone's affected and has the ability to be infected but it's convenient for our God Fearin' government and "leaders" to alienate and segregate in order to rake in more money for their causes, sponsers and personal agendas.

6 things that piss me off. It's a little lengthy:

1. Cell Phones- I have a cell phone. I have had it for about 5 years. It works just fine. The thing that is irritating me are all these damn phones with extra shit built into them that don't make them phones anymore. You have camera phones, PDA phones, Handheld Gaming Phones. The only thing that is left is to combine a phone with a dildo, then that vibrate alert would really come in handy wouldn't it? Or maybe they will combine a phone with a small kitchen appliance like a coffee grinder... It's gone too far. It's a fucking phone people, you pick it up, dial a number, give the lady your credit card number and then she talks dirty to you, okay?!?

2. Jeans- I think this is primarily womens jeans, although I remember seeing a couple of guys wearing similar canvas fashion. This stupid idea that buying jeans that have all the color worn off the thighs or the butt is a cool look. It's not. It's fucking ridiculous. You can't get normal jeans to do that, because in order for that much color to go away the fabric will have gone with it. Besides I think it is just silly to look like you pissed bleach down the front of your legs.

3. Paris Hilton- What a waste! Normally I would probably leave it at that, but this dumb broad is asking to get rant-bitchslapped. First no one really gave a rats ass about her until that sex tape hit the internet. By the way it ain't that good. It's out of focus and the color is off, plus it's a real one camera shot; you feel like you are hiding in the closet or something. So now she has this horribly pathetic realilty show. Her and her bimbo friend go out to bum-fucksville to embarrass and attempt to intimidate the locals. Scummy bitch. And for her it's no biggee... because when she's done she can go back to the Manhattan high-rises, servants, and binge-drinking...
And speaking of reality shows, they ought to be banned. These are not reality, they do not have anything to do with reality. In REALITY if are stuck on deserted island, you do not get a million dollars when you get home. You also don't vote on who has to leave, you vote on who's going to be eaten first... Joe Millionare, Average Joe, Survivor Joe, Bachelor Joe, Who Want's to Marry Joe's Dad? None of these are based in reality. Mainly because I don't think they have real people on them. These shows are populated with self-indulgent, gullibe, stupid, shallow shells of humanity who are either out for fame or money. You can thank MTV for this one, with their whole Real World crap. Everyone saw how blatantly stupid you can be to get your 15 minutes of fame, and now they all want it. And don't be fooled by the search for love crap on some of these PoS's, people signed up because they wanted to be on TV. If you honestly think you are going to find love on what amounts to nothing more than a fucking game show, save yourself the damn trouble, and me a shit-load of pain, and mail-order your mate. The only one that even comes close to reality is Joe Millionare, a guy who lies about how much money he makes in order to get a chick in the sack... Now that sounds something like reality.

4. People who don't leave messages- (unfortunately this does include some of my friends, but hey, even friends need a good kick in the ass once in a while) I swear to god, the next person who calls my phone, listens to the entire greeting, allows the beep to go through only to not leave a message and hang-up, I'm gonna tie them up, cover their nipples with peanutbutter, and lock them in a room full of starving rabid wolverines. If you don't want to leave a message... Hang-The-Fuck-Up! BEFORE the greeting plays all the way through. You know it's the damn answering machine/service! Along these lines are those damn salesgroups who call and leave a message stating, "please hold for the next available representative..." Those people need to be lit on fire, and pushed screaming out of an airplane. And don't leave messages asking if I'm there or not! "Hey man, it's Jimmy. You there? If so pick up... Hello?" Well Jimmy, you lamebrain, limpdick, 'tard... Not only am I not going to pick up, but after I listen to your senseless fucking message, I'm calling the phone company to have your number blocked, You Moron!

5. Asking obvious questions- Just don't do it.
-Don't walk up and ask me what I'm doing: "Watcha doing?"
"I'm planning a trip to the desert to bury your soon to be violated, broken, lifeless, decapitated body. You criminally stupid, shit-quencher."
-Don't wake me up to see if I was asleep: "You asleep?"
"Nooo... but I was. And I was having the most beautiful dream about you having your genitals removed with a saudering iron..."
-And don't "play dumb". You wanna act stupid, then I'm gonna treat you like a fucking moron. This usually happens when somebody has does something really stupid, and I'm guessing they just want to end it in a similar fashion. Like when dumb-fuck hits your car in parking lot, and then decides to go ahead and park right next you with your car paint still on his car... "I don't know what you are talking about."
"I'm sure you don't... I'm also sure that you have absolutely no idea what it means to be castrated... so allow me to explain both through demonstration."

6. Riding the elevator- Don't hold the doors open on an elevator with other people on it so you can finish talking to somone. It really pisses me off when I'm on the elevator awaiting my destination only to be detained by some asshole who decides that he or she needs to finish telling a tale, usually it seems to be about what his/her kid id that they think is so cute, to a friend before allowing the elevator to continue. 2 things: First, have some fucking respect for other people and their need/desire to get where they feel they need to be. Second, your "cute" anecdote about what your retarded, cum-dribble of an offspring did, is NOT that important. It can wait, better yet it should be forgotten. These people need to have their limbs chopped off and forced to get around the world by dragging themselves with their lips. These are the same people who hold the door open on public transportation. If you need to finish your stupid fucking tale of stupidity, then wait until the next bus/train/elevator/whatever to arrive.

don't you love goverments. my husband works in mexico and they started a new thing in foreign countries. you pay them taxes after you work there 180 days. well his check came in last nite and i was missing a chunk. you get credit for it on your u.s. federal tax but that will be next tax year before you can get it. ain't life grand. we take oil rigs to other countries and they get all kinds of benefits and money out the butt now they tax us even more.

why do doctors and dentists think they are so goddamn special? why is a root canal that takes an hour worth $950? who cares if you have insurance and it's christmas time and you are a single mom with 3 kids....the dentist needs a new (insert luxary item here). of course, then it needs to be followed up by a crown for $800...paid in full or you can't leave the office alive. bastards. my daughter's 15 minutes at the endocrinologist was $4000. They always say they are paying back student loans....
why is my time less important than their time? I sit in the frickin waiting room for hours. Too bad. Sat in the waiting room atleast an hour the other day for my daughter's 10 minute appt., which was $200. A couple of weeks ago, I sat for an hour and a half in the waiting room of my dentist....read 3 magazines and a newspaper and couldn't stay seated because i have a chronic back problem...that was before I sat for another 2 hours while he did a temp crown. Today i mixed up my daughter and my cleaning appts. hers was 1/2 hour after mine, i sent her first. they called and wanted me there right now, i said i have to eat something quickly and dry my hair, 15 minutes. they cancelled my appt. Cancelled because i was going to be 15 minutes late (explain to me again why they couldn't switch our appts. we were both having a cleaning)...but they make me sit for an hour and a half in the fucking waiting room because my time isn't important. I was going to be late for a doctor appt. for my daughter and called ahead, saying i would be about 10-15 minutes late. They said they were cancelling it. I said, wait! I sit in their office for hours in the waiting room, and here i am 15 minutes late and they cancel...i had to take my daughter out of school, time off from work (I didn't get paid if i didn't work) and they wanted me to do all that again. Grrr. I can't believe they think their shit is worth so much more than ours. Why do they charge so much? Why can't they take payments? Why do I have to rush to get somewhere where I have to wait for hours? I waited 7 hours for an eye specialist once, and did 6 hours at the U with my dad....then they spend 10 minutes with us and we are supposed to worship them, appreciate them, honor them as gods........
bullshit.
Now i have to reschedule my cleaning for the spring. Because they couldn't have me come 15 minutes late when i would wait those same 15 minutes in the waiting room anyway. Sign me fucking in now and i will be there when he's available...

I HATE WAL-MART , Wal-FART , WALLY-WORLD !

This has GOT to be the worst God damn place to shop in the fucking free world !!!

First of all the vast majority of the " sheeple " that shop there think its a fucking " Social Center " ... I wanna scream : " Move your God damn FAT ass ... take it to the FOOD Court ! " ... Sheeple mill around in there in a consumer daze and I'm CONVINCED that Wally World plays subliminal messages like : " Consume " , " Buy Extra " , " You DESERVE it " & " Always low prices ".
Secondly the " Wal-tarts " they hire to run the registers have to take piss tests ( which in itself amazes me considering they are fucking minimum wage jobs )in order to work there ... now that wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so fucking clueless ! Don't ask any of them where an item is because they will stumble around through 368 aisles dragging you along until THEY find it like they are doing you a favor. If they don't know where the hell something is than I wish they would JUST SAY SO !
Thirdly, Wal-Mart is the MOST hypocritical company on EARTH ! They like to blather on about " Buy American " & subliminally use the colors Red, White & Blue as well as that fucking smiley face dressed up like Robin Hood. ( Yeah, like he's REALLY robbing from the rich to give to the poor ! ) If thats the case than why the hell are FIVE, count'em FIVE members of the Wal-fart family on the list of the TEN WORLDS RICHEST people ? Why does Wal-mart import more & more low quality merchandise from other countries ? Why are only 38% of their employees EVEN eligible for health insurance ???

The Food Zealots Must Die!

Ok. In my ever expanding world of building rage here's one item, just the tip of the iceberg. We'll start small...

There are few basic needs in life. Sleep. Water. A small degree of shelter from the elements. Food.

I have no patience for people who feel the need to give their unsolicited opinions about what I put in my body as a source of nourishment.

Background: I am a conscientious eater. I listened to way too much Smiths back in '85 and became a vegetarian and stayed one for almost a decade. Then, on my 25th birthday, I snapped and realized that I had been denying myself the glorious thing that is The Pastrami Sandwich. I never looked back and have no regrets.

So, it KILLS me when someone out of the blue says "how can you put that in your body?" as I'm enjoying a burger. The thing that doubly kills me is that the majority of people I encounter are the "Liberal" and "educated" types who denounce religeon as being preachy and something that doesn't allow the individual to think for themselves.

Also, I have been fortunate enough to travel (not to the high society of Europe but to 3rd world regions) where you see first hand that individuals within most cultures will eat whatever they can get their hands on. Nutrition is nutrition regardless of the source. In modern day America, we have they LUXURY or being able to choose our diet. One can be a vegetarian or vegan without much cost if they're willing to work at planning meals ahead, growing their own food, cooking lots of meals at home BUT the reality of the situation is that many are sucker for convenience and buy pre-packaged (more times than not) costly food. Your dietary choice is a choice of the priveledged and the elite. Most of the world populace has NO choice so don't get high and mighty with me about such a small, petty, stupid thing while you munch away on your fucking five dollar for a half a serving "fakin' bacon" sandwich.

And that's another thing... I hate vegetarians who eat products that taste like MEAT! Eat the meat or don't eat the meat but don't eat fake meat and then bitch about people eating real meat. So fucking stupid...

*big sigh*

I hate Old Navy Commercials so much!!! I refuse to shop there, simply because the commercials are so bad. I especially hate the one with that woman who has that irritating, scratchy voice. I have to leave the room or change the channel if that commercial comes on!!!!!

I don't understand....how is that supposed to get people to buy their stuff?

I know that there is a likelyhood of me gettin lynched over this... but hey, it's Christmas and tis the season of oppression and hostility. So I figure I might as well do something that deserves it.

Dont you love this time of year? The sales? the crowds? the mistletoe? The food andtoy drives? the Salvation Santa on every corner? The lights? the poinsettas? the decorated trees? The federal governement realizing the American people might be just a bit too damn happy and do what they can to bring the joy down a notch? You have to love them for it though. I mean really, they are doing it for our own protection... right? I mean they're not just sitting around and thinking, "hmm you know, it's Christmas time, we caught Saddam, the economy is picking up, and there is this ever increasing joyness growing in the masses... Which only means that people are losing sight of what it means to be Americans... And that is to be MISERABLE!" Okay so maybe that might be a little harsh, eh fuck it.
So I watching the news, and noticed the blurb about raising the 'terrorist threat level'. Has anybody really have a good idea about how they come to these conclusions? My personal opinion is that they just draw a level out of a hat. In any case, it means that we as americans should be wary of terrorist attacks. But as usual there is the disclaimer, like the fork warning on a toaster, don't let this elevated threat level discourage you from carrying on with your daily lives, travel plans, etc. In short I think it basically comes right down to the feds saying, "Hey, go about your plans, but if you die in a fiery explosion don't be surprised, and this time we won't be offering any money to victims families... we need(ed) it to fund the Homeland Security Department, which puts out these worthless messages."
I think the part that really irritates me is that they never release any sort of specifics. Like say, maybe exactly who might be attacking, where this information was heard from, etc. I understand that they can't necessarily reveal their sources but how can the American public really trust a source titled "Undisclosed". And is that his first or last name?
So let's break it down, and ridicule both the media and feds, shall we? First off, for ease, I am referencing a single online artilce, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3775771/, yes it is MSNBC, I am chosing this one out of laziness and knowing that because of the source I'm sure it will allow much fuel for the fire. So let's get started...
1- The U.S. government on Sunday raised the national threat level to high, the second-highest, saying attacks were possible during the holidays and that threat indicators are “perhaps greater now than at any point” since Sept. 11, 2001. -- Why is the part about since Sept. 11 not in quotes? In short what they are trying to say is, before DHS (Department of Homeland Service) creation we didn't have a color to specifiy what the terror alert was, and therefore no real way of knowing how much danger we were in. To break it down even further, what it means is that the feds realized that with all the Christmas traveling happening this year, they can get more people jobs by requiring higher security at airports.
2- “Extensive and considerable protections have been or soon will be in place all across the country,” Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge said... -- Soon will be? Well here's a suggestion: Get snapping Tommy boi~ You have had two years to get the extensive and considerable protections (see also: flight delays) in place.
3- “Your government will stand at the ready 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to stop terrorism during the holiday season and beyond.” -- Please tell me this means they are going to to start stoneing crazy holiday shoppers en masse.
4- He urged Americans not to disrupt holiday travel plans. “America is a country that will not be bent by terror. America is a country that will not be broken by fear,” Ridge said. -- Unless of course the American government wants America to be bent by terror and broken by fear. And actually I guess the media should be tossed in there as well (if there was ever a conspiracy theory, its the ties between the government and media in this country).
5- ...intelligence mention New York, Washington and unspecified cities on the West Coast... -- New York and Washington, are mentioned specifcally because they have been historically attacked. I do like the unspecified cities on the West Coast. Basically I take it as, we have absolutely no idea where on the West Coast they might attack because they really haven't attacked any place on the West Coast.
In closing, I want to remind everybody that if something does happen DO NOT add to peoples panic and paranoia by telling others what disasters are still in store you heard from your brothers, friends, cousins, uncles, roomate, who was discharged from the coast guard. It's stupid, and while although some fundamental religious zealot, or some guy from Montana, has bombed our country, it is you, the person spreading panic by repeating unfoundned, assinine rumors, that is commiting terrorism by blabing your herpes sore encrusted lips. If you try to tell me, I will more than happily throw your sorry ass into whatever burning pile of rubble that remains from the recent attack.

" Loyalty " cards ...

I'm am sick of grocery stores who want to know every little detail about my purchasing habits in exchange for a fair price !

Why do you need to know that I prefer one brand over another ?
Who pays for all those little " loyalty cards " in the first place ?
Why not save the cost of these invasive programs & give me the REAL sale price ?

NO ... I do not have a " little frequently abused shopper LOYALTY card " ... NO ... I will NOT pay the inflated price because I refuse to sell my privacy. Yes, you can put back ANY item in the cart that you intend to charge me a higher price for, for not selling my soul and signing up for a " loyalty " card !

Scan your own damn card and give me the advertised price !

This isn't fucking luxury goods ... it's FOOD dammit ! And EVERYONE should be afforded the ability to pay an EQUAL price for the same amount of FOOD !

REFUSE to put up with this shit ! If you are paying cash for your groceries it is no ones business what you are buying ! This is a FREE country !

Public restrooms

Why is it that people that would not think twice about flushing thier own toilet think that it's fine to leave the public toilet steaming with their foul shit. I mean it's bad enough that the urinal is full of half smoked butts, but then you add two or three bladders full of piss on top of it........whewwww!

I also want to know why these same people won't take the time to flush the crap from the guy before them that thought it would be funny to show off his prize. They just add to the pile and think that it's all going to take care of it'self. Then as you are leaving the smelly sespool you see on the back of the door that D.A. was just there 5 minutes ago to clean the place. I mean he signed the paper saying that he cleaned it, so I'm sure he must have seen the same thing I did. Right? Makes me want to find a manager and D.A. and give them both a swirlly.

Ok, maybe this isn't so big, but dammit... when I bake cookies I want to be able to get the damn things off from the cookie sheet. I am going to a cookie exchange Sunday and I don't feel like bringing a platter of crumbs, nor do I feel like rebaking 8 dozen cookies tonight. Slathered that cooking spray all over the sheets, you'd think I could remove the cookies without having to make cookie meal out of them.....

I HATE it when people say : " How ya doin' ? " as they continue to walk by ... Why the hell ask a stupid question if you have NO intention of waiting for an answer ?

Just say " hello " as you walk by ...

I always want to turn around to the person asking that stupid question and say something like: " Well my hemorrhoids are acting up & I got toenail fungus. " just to see their reaction.

Dentists

I have a long story...but I will just start with one question. Why in the hell are dentists closed on Friday? And Saturday and Sunday? It makes more sense to work M, close T, work W, close TH, work F, maybe work Sat and close S. Atleast if there is a dental emergency, you wouldn't have to go 3 days with it!!!!!!!!! I had a crown this week and it fell off, it's laying in my mouth. Damned if I am going to sleep tonight with the crown laying in my mouth so I'll swallow it! Why would he be closed on Friday? That's stupid. Grrrrrr. Ver. Ver.

Bethany's father, my ex-husband, is an extremist. He claims to be a fundamental Christian and often does street preaching, passing out tracts, public speaking. Mostly he speaks against issues...like abortion, homosexuality, couples living together without being married. He doesn't practice what he preaches,though. He's an alcoholic, likes prescription traquilizers and teen-age girls. He's been arrested for DUI so many times. He's the Jimmy Swaggart type (in fact, he loves Jimmy).
He drives a van which is lettered with phrases like, "God gave a woman a womb not a tomb," "Homosexuality is a crime against humanity," "It was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve," and "The road to hell is paved with abortionists."
Beth doesn't see her father often, but he took me to court for visitation and occassionally (once every few months) she will go visit him.
Beth is very open-minded and attended for awhile a progressive alternative high school. Although she is straight, 90% of her friends are gay males, lesbians or bi-sexual females. Many of her friends are also Wicca, and she tends towards that religious view. Beth dyes her hair a variety of colors, blue, purple, black, burgundy, and dresses alternative. She now has a very, very short haircut, which sticks up on top in spikes. Her father assumed, (never asked), that she was a "homo-sexual." When she visited him, he told her that he had a movie that he wanted her to watch, then sat her and her 7 year old sister down to watch a propaganda documentary on the horrors and sins of homosexuality, how homosexuals rape children, and they do disgusting acts like "rimming" (which they explained in detail), and spread diseases. Then he took her aside and told her that he knows she is struggling with this sin and that she needs therapy and she needs to go to church.
Needless to say, she was stunned and appalled. So, her and a group of her friends snuck up to his van one night and put a bumper sticker on it that said, "Sorry I couldn't be in church Sunday, but I was too busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian."
